Restaurants: Burma SuperStar!

For the most unique food in all of SF, make sure to check out Burma SuperStar in the Richmond neighborhood of SF. Burmese food is a somwhere between Thai, Indian, and Heaven!! Everything is amazing, and the long lines out the door prove it. A few words to the wise:
  • Call Ahead!! They don't take reservations, but will put your name on the wait list if you call (415)387-2147. Make sure to leave your phone number b/c they will call you when your table is ready.
  • Keep your party to 4 or less for faster seating. Groups of 6 can take 2 hours, no joke, but worth the wait. Don't even try to go there with a bigger group.
  • Eat early! A great day plan is to spend the afternoon in Golden Gate park (nearby), and then head out to an early 6pm dinner there. The epic waits don't usually start until after 6:30pm.

Make sure to order:
  • both types of special rice (coconut and spiced)
  • Tea Leaf Salad: a real party in your mouth
  • Walnut Shrimp
  • Falafel/Samosa soup--midly spicy, wonderous mixture of flavors
  • Ginger Beer lemonade
